ए. आई. सी. टी. ई. ने 21 मई 2021 को अटल टनल के अध्ययन दौरे के लिए ए. आई. सी. टी. ई. यूथ अंडरटेकिंग विजिट नाम की एक नई योजना शुरू की है, जिसका उद्देश्य अटल टनल के अध्ययन दौरे के लिए ए. आई. सी. टी. ई. से मान्यता प्राप्त संस्थानों के एक संकाय और 10 छात्रों की टीम को वित्तीय अनुदान प्रदान करना है। * * उद्देश्यः * *-सुरंग के निर्माण में उपयोग की जाने वाली नवीनतम तकनीकों और विशेष रूप से न्यू ऑस्ट्रियन टनलिंग विधि के बारे में प्रत्यक्ष ज्ञान और जानकारी प्राप्त करना। इस परियोजना के निष्पादन के दौरान आने वाली चुनौतियों और उनके समाधान के बारे में जानकारी प्राप्त करें, विशेष रूप से सर्दियों में भारी बर्फबारी के दौरान खुदाई, अस्थिर चट्टानों के विस्फोट और खुदाई, सुरंग के दोनों सिरों से खुदाई और खुदाई को ध्यान में रखते हुए सुरंग का संरेखण, सुरंग के दृष्टिकोण पर 46 से अधिक हिमस्खलन स्थलों पर खुदाई और सुरंग बनाना, बड़ी मात्रा में खुदाई की गई चट्टानों और मिट्टी का निपटान, पानी के भारी प्रवेश, भूस्खलन, भूस्खलन आदि के निरंतर निर्वहन के संदर्भ में। - देश में इंजीनियरिंग शिक्षा की गुणवत्ता बढ़ाने और छात्रों में अनुसंधान और नवाचार संस्कृति को विकसित करने के लिए। - इंजीनियरिंग के छात्रों को तकनीकी शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में सुधार करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करना।

Atal Tunnel has been built under the Rohtang Pass on the Leh-Manali Highway as an all-weather route to Leh and Lahaul and Spiti valleys. At a length of 9.02 km, it is the longest tunnel above 10,000 feet (3,048 m) in the world and is named after former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

What is the main objective of the scheme?

The main objective of the scheme is to gain firsthand knowledge & information about the latest techniques used in construction of the tunnel and in particular about the New Austrian tunneling method.
