उत्तराखंड सरकार के विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग के तहत उत्तराखंड विज्ञान शिक्षा और अनुसंधान केंद्र (यू. एस. ई. आर. सी.) द्वारा "एसटीईएम (विज्ञान, प्रौद्योगिकी, इंजीनियरिंग, गणित) प्रयोगशालाओं की स्थापना और संचालन" योजना को लागू किया जाता है। इसका उद्देश्य उत्तराखंड के स्कूलों में एसटीईएम प्रयोगशालाएं स्थापित करना है ताकि कक्षा 6 से 12 तक के छात्रों को विज्ञान, प्रौद्योगिकी, इंजीनियरिंग और गणित सीखने के अवसर प्रदान किए जा सकें और वैज्ञानिक अवधारणाओं की उनकी व्यावहारिक समझ को मजबूत किया जा सके
