लाभ
1. चयनित अध्येताओं को 3000 अमेरिकी डॉलर के बराबर मासिक अध्येतावृत्ति राशि का भुगतान किया जाएगा। 1. वीजा शुल्क, हवाई अड्डा हस्तांतरण शुल्क, बीमा आदि को कवर करने के लिए ₹75,000/- के एकमुश्त आकस्मिकता/प्रारंभिक भत्ते। भारत और विदेशों में 20,000/- का विदेशी चिकित्सा बीमा। 1. चयनित अध्येताओं को भारत में उनके कार्यस्थल से मेजबान संस्थान के स्थान तक और वापस जाने के लिए सबसे छोटा मार्ग अर्थव्यवस्था श्रेणी का हवाई किराया भी प्रदान किया जाएगा। विदेश यात्रा की अधिकतम अवधि 06 महीने तक सीमित है। नियमित रोजगार में वैज्ञानिकों/शोधकर्ताओं के लिए, संगठन/संस्थान/विश्वविद्यालय के वेतन, छुट्टी, चिकित्सा उपदान, जी. पी. एफ. पेंशन आदि के भुगतान को नियंत्रित करने वाले नियम उनके संस्थागत मानदंडों के अनुसार लागू रहेंगे। इनमें से किसी पर भी एस. ई. आर. बी. का कोई दायित्व नहीं होगा।

विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी विभाग, भारत सरकार के तहत एक वैधानिक निकाय, विज्ञान और इंजीनियरिंग अनुसंधान बोर्ड (एस. ई. आर. बी.) ने एस. ई. आर. बी. अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अनुसंधान अनुभव (एस. आई. आर. ई.) की शुरुआत की है। इस कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी के अग्रणी क्षेत्रों में उच्च-स्तरीय अनुसंधान प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करना है, जो दुनिया भर के प्रमुख संस्थानों/विश्वविद्यालयों में महीनों की अवधि के लिए जाने का अवसर प्रदान करके भारत के लिए रुचि रखते हैं। इस कार्यक्रम के तहत एस. ई. आर. बी. एस. एंड टी. के सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों में उम्मीदवारों का चयन करता है और दुनिया भर के शीर्ष संस्थानों में उनकी यात्रा का समर्थन करता है, अधिमानतः उन संस्थानों में जहां अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर प्रशंसित वैज्ञानिक काम कर रहे हैं। उद्देश्यः एस. आई. आर. ई. अध्येताओं द्वारा अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अनुसंधान और विकास अनुभव के अवसर प्रदान करके विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी के सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों में राष्ट्रीय क्षमता का निर्माण करना। - एस. आई. आर. ई. अध्येताओं द्वारा प्राप्त विशेषज्ञता का लाभ उठाकर अपने क्षेत्र ज्ञान में राष्ट्रीय कार्यक्रमों को मजबूत/शुरू करना। - उन प्राथमिकता वाले क्षेत्रों में अनुसंधान गतिविधियों को प्रोत्साहित करना जो अभी भी भारतीय संदर्भ में कम खोजे गए हैं।

पात्रता

  • यह योजना केवल भारतीय नागरिकों के लिए खुली है। 1. आवेदक के पास भारत में मान्यता प्राप्त संस्थानों से विज्ञान और इंजीनियरिंग के क्षेत्र में पीएचडी की डिग्री होनी चाहिए। 1. आवेदक को किसी भी भारतीय अनुसंधान और शैक्षणिक संस्थान में स्थायी पद होना चाहिए। 1. एम. बी. एस./एम. डी. की डिग्री रखने वाले उम्मीदवार और पशु चिकित्सक भी आवेदन करने के पात्र हैं। 1. टीचर्स एसोसिएटशिप फॉर रिसर्च एक्सीलेंस (टी. ए. आर. ई.) पुरस्कार पाने वाले आवेदक भी आवेदन करने के पात्र हैं। 1. आवेदक को आवेदन के साथ विदेशी मेजबान संस्थान से समर्थन पत्र जमा करना होगा। 1. इस योजना के तहत आवेदन करने की आयु सीमा 40 वर्ष (आवेदन जमा करने की तिथि के अनुसार) होगी। अनुसूचित जाति/अनुसूचित जनजाति/अन्य पिछड़ा वर्ग/शारीरिक रूप से विकलांग और महिला श्रेणियों से संबंधित आवेदकों को 5 साल की आयु में छूट दी जाएगी।

    The application for consideration can be submitted through the SERB online portal www.serbonline.in only when the call for proposal is made.

    Applicant should first register on the online website. Click here to register

  3. चरण 3: Online — Step 03

    After successful registration, the user will be sent a confirmation mail on the registered email ID. Users must click on the URL provided in the mail to confirm registration.

  4. चरण 4: Online — Step 04

    After login, the applicant(s) are required to fill all the mandatory fields in the Profile Detail section under User Profile, which includes Bio-data, Photo, Institute Address, etc.

  5. चरण 5: Online — Step 05

    Details like Qualification, Research Experience, Fellowships (if any), Employment, Patent (if any), Publications (if any), Projects (if any), and Research Collaborations (if any) have to be provided.

  6. चरण 6: Online — Step 06

    Some of the details of your proposed work like Title (max 500 characters), Keywords (max 6), Expected output and outcome (max 1500 characters) and Tentative dates of visit, etc. have to be entered at the time of submission.

  7. चरण 7: Online — Step 07

    The Research Plan has to be uploaded in a single PDF file not more than 10 MB. Note 01: Applicant must submit the endorsement letter duly signed by the head of the organization/ institute where the applicant is employed. Note 02: The candidate should also submit a letter of approval of the research plan from the host. > Selection: The selection would be made among faculties who gained approval of the research plan from overseas institutions. The Board will constitute a selection committee to select the candidates. Note: The candidates selected under this programme should commence their research in an overseas institution within one month from the date of the offer letter, and if not, the offer will be automatically withdrawn and no correspondence will be entertained thereafter.

What is the aim of this scheme?

This scheme aims to impart high-end research training in frontier areas of Science and Technology, which are of interest to India by providing an opportunity to visit leading institutions/universities across the globe for a period of 02-06 months.

What is the objective of the Scheme?

The following are the objectives of the scheme: To build national capacity in frontier areas of Science and Technology by providing opportunities for International R&D experience by SIRE fellows. To tap the expertise gained by SIRE fellows to strengthen/initiate national programmes in their domain knowledge. To encourage research activities in priority areas which are still less explored in Indian context.

Which is the implementing agency of this scheme?

Can I avail SIRE fellowship multiple times?

No, any applicant is eligible to avail this fellowship only once in his / her career.

Can I apply for only one month visit?

No. The duration of the proposed visit must be within 02-6 months.

Can I use SIRE fellowship to visit other nearby institutions during my stay in the proposed country?

No, SIRE fellowship must be utilized only for the purpose for which it has been sanctioned.

Will flight cancellation / rescheduling charges or extra baggage charges be considered under SIRE fellowship?

No. SERB will not provide any type of cancellation / rescheduling charges or extra baggage charges.

I am 41 years old. Can I avail SIRE fellowship?

The maximum age limit to apply under SIRE programme is 40 years. However, SC/ST/OBC and Women candidates will be given age relaxation of 5 years, provided, the applicant has submitted the valid category proof.

What, if I have provided any incorrect/misleading information or breach of terms and conditions?

Fellowship will be cancelled and given support will be withdrawn at any stage. SERB has all the rights to take any action in consultation with the applicant's parent organization / university / institute etc. including refund of entire amount spent on the SIRE Fellow along with the interest thereon to SERB.

I have an ongoing SERB project under CRG/SRG. Am I eligible to apply under SIRE?

Yes.

I have availed ITS support of SERB this year / last year. Am I eligible to apply under SIRE?

Yes.

I have done my Ph.D. from abroad. Am I eligible to apply?

No. Only those candidates who have completed their Ph.D. from India are eligible to apply.

Are INSPIRE Faculty / Ramanujan Fellow eligible to apply under SIRE?

No.

Is tenure track faculty position qualify as permanent position and are they eligible to apply under SIRE?

Yes, however, the institution must endorse the tenure track faculty as permanent faculty.

How can I submit the application form under the scheme?
