The primary objective of the scheme is to promote farm mechanization by providing financial assistance to eligible groups and individuals, ensuring that farmers have access to essential agricultural equipment and reducing the cost of farming.
The scheme is open to Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS), Farmer Groups, Farmer Producer Companies, Cooperative Institutions, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Sakhi Mandals, and individuals with relevant agricultural education such as a Diploma, Graduate, or Postgraduate degree in Agriculture or a Bachelor of Rural Studies (B.R.S.).
The scheme provides financial assistance of up to 75% of the cost of farm implements (limited to [?]7,50,000/-) in general areas and up to 85% (limited to [?]8,50,000/-) in tribal areas.
In general areas, the assistance is provided as 40% in the first year, 10% in the second and third years, and 7.5% in the fourth and fifth years. In tribal areas, the assistance is 50% in the first year, 10% in the second and third years, and 7.5% in the fourth and fifth years.
