अन्य पिछड़े वर्गों के कुछ समुदाय मिट्टी के बर्तनों सहित पारंपरिक व्यवसायों में लगे हुए हैं। पारंपरिक मिट्टी के बर्तन बनाने वाले श्रमिक उत्पादों के निर्माण के लिए पारंपरिक तरीकों का पालन कर रहे हैं और उन्हें बाजार में कड़ी प्रतिस्पर्धा का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। इस परिस्थिति में मिट्टी के बर्तन बनाने वालों को उत्पादन के आधुनिक तरीकों/तकनीकों के बारे में प्रशिक्षण देकर और इस क्षेत्र के मशीनीकरण और आधुनिकीकरण के लिए वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करके इस पारंपरिक उद्योग को पुनर्जीवित करना होगा। उपरोक्त को ध्यान में रखते हुए, केरल सरकार के पृष्ठभूमि वर्ग विकास विभाग द्वारा "पारंपरिक मिट्टी के बर्तन बनाने वालों को सहायता" योजना शुरू की गई है। इस योजना के तहत राज्य के अन्य पिछड़ा वर्ग श्रेणी से संबंधित पारंपरिक मिट्टी के बर्तन बनाने वालों को नौकरी के आधुनिकीकरण के लिए आधुनिक मशीनरी की खरीद के लिए वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी।
