मुख्यमंत्री व्यापक स्वास्थ्य बीमा योजना, जिसे पहले कलाइंगर काप्पिट्टू थिट्टम के नाम से जाना जाता था, 23 जुलाई 2009 को शुरू की गई थी, जिसका उद्देश्य सूचीबद्ध सरकारी और निजी अस्पतालों के माध्यम से योग्य व्यक्तियों को गुणवत्तापूर्ण स्वास्थ्य सेवा प्रदान करना था, जिससे नामांकित परिवारों के लिए वित्तीय कठिनाई कम हो सके और सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य प्रणाली के साथ प्रभावी ढंग से जुड़कर सार्वभौमिक स्वास्थ्य कवरेज की ओर बढ़े। जनवरी 2022 से 2027 तक, इस योजना को यूनाइटेड इंडिया इंश्योरेंस कंपनी के माध्यम से लागू किया जा रहा है। जनवरी 2022 तक, इस योजना में लगभग 13.7 करोड़ परिवार शामिल हैं। सी. एम. सी. एच. आई. एस. के तहत 800 सरकारी और 900 निजी सूचीबद्ध अस्पतालों में कुल 1090 प्रक्रियाएं, 8 अनुवर्ती प्रक्रियाएं और 52 नैदानिक प्रक्रियाएं शामिल हैं। 5,00,000-प्रति परिवार, प्रति वर्ष योजना के तहत आने वाली बीमारियों और प्रक्रियाओं के लिए फ्लोटर आधार पर। सी. एम. सी. एच. आई. एस. यह सुनिश्चित करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है कि समाज के कमजोर वर्गों को वित्तीय संकट का सामना किए बिना पर्याप्त स्वास्थ्य सेवा प्राप्त हो, साथ ही साथ गुणवत्तापूर्ण चिकित्सा देखभाल तक पहुंच को बढ़ावा दिया जाए।
