"सौर आधारित हाइड्रोपोनिक प्रणाली" योजना उत्तराखंड राज्य विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी परिषद (यू. सी. ओ. एस. टी.) द्वारा विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी, उत्तराखंड सरकार के तहत लागू की गई है। इसका उद्देश्य एक नवीन सौर-आधारित हाइड्रोपोनिक प्रणाली को विकसित करना और बढ़ावा देना है जो सौर ऊर्जा को आधुनिक ग्रीनहाउस प्रौद्योगिकी और मोबाइल अनुप्रयोग समर्थन के साथ एकीकृत करता है
यू. सी. ओ. एस. टी. देहरादून में एक सौर आधारित हाइड्रोपोनिक प्रणाली स्थापित की गई है। सौर-आधारित हाइड्रोपोनिक प्रणाली राज्य में नवीनतम शोध है, जिसमें किसानों और उपभोक्ताओं के लिए एक अभिनव और एकीकृत सौर ग्रीनहाउस-आधारित हाइड्रोपोनिक समाधान और एक एंड्रॉइड मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन विकसित किया गया है। लाभः स्वचालित सौर-आधारित हाइड्रोपोनिक प्रणाली ऊर्जा की खपत को कम करेगी, पानी के उपयोग को कम करेगी और फसल की पैदावार को बढ़ाएगी। इस प्रणाली में एक उद्यमशीलता या व्यवसाय मॉडल के रूप में काम करने की क्षमता भी है और इसे अन्य हिमालयी राज्यों में दोहराया जा सकता है, जिससे पहाड़ी किसानों और युवाओं के लिए आजीविका के बेहतर अवसर पैदा होते हैं। सौर-आधारित हाइड्रोपोनिक प्रणालियों के छोटे ऑफ-ग्रिड मॉडल, जिन्हें ऑन-ग्रिड प्रणालियों के अलावा विकसित करने का प्रस्ताव है, उन्हें दूरदराज के क्षेत्रों में स्थापित किया जा सकता है जहां बिजली की आपूर्ति एक प्रमुख मुद्दा है। इससे पहाड़ी किसानों की व्यक्तिगत आय बढ़ाने में मदद मिलेगी
