Construction of a durable house with a carpet area of a minimum of 19.20 sqm (207 sq. ft) with at least 2 rooms for LIG households as a credit-linked subsidy. 1. Financial assistance up to ₹75,000 under the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme for LIG houses. 1. Additional cost to be borne by beneficiary through own resources, MGNREGS, SRWP, or bank loan. 1. Houses to be constructed as per government-approved model (Annexure-A). 1. Eligibility

  • The applicant should be a bona fide resident of the State of Meghalaya.
  • The applicant should belong to the Economically Weaker Section (annual income up to ₹1,00,000) or the Low Income Group (income between ₹1,00,001 and ₹2,00,000).
  • The applicant should be 18 years of age or above.
  • The applicant should not have any other member from the same family living under the same roof as a beneficiary under the same scheme.
  • The applicant should not own a pucca house in their or any family member's name.
  • The applicant should possess their own land (for construction in case of a dwelling house).
  • The applicant should submit the EPIC (Electors' Photo Identity Card) or any other valid document as proof of residence.
  • The applicant should not have received any previous housing loan or financial aid from any other government source in their or their spouse’s name.
  • The applicant should construct the house personally and not through a contractor.

How to Apply

  1. Step 1: Offline — Step 01

    Visit the Block Development Officer (for rural areas) or District Housing Officer (for urban areas).

  2. Step 2: Offline — Step 02

    Obtain the prescribed printed application form issued by the Directorate of Housing.

  3. Step 3: Offline — Step 03

    Fill in the form with all personal, income, and housing details.

  4. Step 4: Offline — Step 04

    Attach required documents (EPIC, income certificate, land proof, etc.).

  5. Step 5: Offline — Step 05

    Submit the filled application to the same authority (BDO or DHO).

  6. Step 6: Offline — Step 06

    BDO/DHO prepares a list of beneficiaries and sends it to the Block/Urban Level Selection and Monitoring Committee.

    The committee screens and approves the list.

  8. Step 8: Offline — Step 08

    The approved list is forwarded to the District Housing Committee.

    District Committee sends the final list to the Director of Housing.

Who is eligible to receive roofing material under this scheme?

Residents of Meghalaya who belong to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) with an annual income up to ₹1,00,000 and do not own a pucca house are eligible. <br>

What financial help is given to Low Income Group (LIG) families under this scheme?

What is the role of Urban Level Housing Selection and Monitoring Committee (ULHSMC)?
