The scheme “Basic Kayaking Course” is implemented by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board under the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to train and certify youth of Uttarakhand as skilled kayaking instructors with essential life-saving skills.

Step 1: Offline application
• The prescribed application form must be duly filled and submitted along with the required documents to the office of the District Tourism Development Officer. • The applications are evaluated on practical parameters by the trainers from the National Institute of Water Sports (NIWS), Goa. <br>
Youth of Uttarakhand who are at least 18 years old, educated, mentally and physically healthy, able to swim 100 meters within 3 minutes, and have prior training in life-saving techniques from a recognized institute. <br>
A total of 15 beneficiaries are selected training. <br>
Applicants should have completed training in life-saving techniques and water sports operations from any recognized institute. <br>
Applications must be submitted in the office of the District Tourism Development Officer along with the prescribed format and necessary documents. <br>
Applications are examined on a practical basis by trainers from the National Institute of Water Sports (NIWS), Goa. <br>
